Having a newborn at home is crazy! I've been there, I get it. But documenting those new little moments really is priceless. Those teenie toes, those squishy legs and those gassy smiles! And equally important is documenting the totally normal, not so glamorous moments as well - the adorable awkwardness of a sink bath, baby burps, sofa snuggles...believe me, those are the foggy memories you'll be happy to have to look back on later.
Sound overwhelming? Don't worry! It's my goal to make this as stress free as possible! I will come to you and all we will do is take photos of you doing what you do - being a parent. You will receive a prep guide full of helpful tips about how to prepare your family and your home, and don't worry, no cleaning service or hair and makeup are required! The real moments will mean more down the road.
This style of session is also perfect for "older" newborns, as they don't require much posing and a more alert baby can make for more engaging photos, capturing connection between the two of you. I recommend anywhere from one to 6 weeks. Sessions typically last 2-4 hours, leaving time for feedings and changes. If baby has siblings (even furry ones) I'm more than happy to include them!
POSES
If you just love those little sweet little newborn poses as well, I'm with you! I always bring along a few props and wraps. We will discuss your ideas in advance so I know what shots are most important to you. We also discuss details like color schemes and style and talk about what you hope to do with your images in the end - for instance nursery art, a family portrait or a beautiful baby album.
Something to note is that the younger the baby the easier they are to pose. Although we won't be attempting anything too ambitious like we might in a studio, a baby under 10 days will be much sleepier - so if you're looking for a pose-heavy gallery keep in mind your baby's age and please let me know when we speak. If you think you missed the window, there are still a number of achievable poses for "older" newborns too.

Who is Chickey Little
Chickey Little Photography is a luxury boutique photography studio owned by Chelsea Hickey (CHickey)....
Chelsea is an award winning, published photographer, and artist whose studio is located just outside of Boston.
She lives in Dedham, MA where she is a mother of two young boys and has been taking photos professionally since 2015.
With an eye for spotting the perfect little moments that capture personalities and connection, it is a pleasure for Chelsea to work with your family, not only creating amazing artwork for your home but also providing an unforgettable experience.
Making memories should be a treat, not a chore, and Chelsea's goal is to provide an experience that will leave you feeling appreciated and cared for each step of the way.
Chelsea was great to work with and captured amazing photos of my two sons for each of their newborn photo shoots (2020 and 2022). She struck a great balance between listening to what we wanted and guiding/advising us. We were especially impressed with how she was able to get our two year old to sit and smile at the camera during our second son’s newborn session - pure magic! We have three displays of her work in our home and also a box set of prints and a grandparent gift... Her process was soup to nuts so she not only helped us select photos to display but also advised on where/how to display, picked out frames, and she and a colleague came to hang them up. We’re so happy with the final product!
Chelsea is a talented artist and a lovely human being. Her graphic design background puts her a step above as she has a beautiful eye for the perfect shot. She goes above and beyond after the shoot to help you turn your photos into the best keepsakes. With children of her own, she is an absolute natural!
We loved working with Chelsea for our daughter's newborn photos. She truly made the whole photo shoot process easy and enjoyable, especially as we navigated life with a new baby. Chelsea came over in advance of our shoot to walk us through the process. She quite literally went through our closet and helped to pick out clothing that matched the aesthetic and vibe we wanted for our photos. On the day of the photos, Chelsea worked her magic with our daughter. She was such a calming and positive presence. She was able to take both posed portraits and candid photos.
