NEWBORN LIFESTYLE
Having a newborn at home is crazy! I've been there, I get it. But documenting those new little moments really is priceless. Those teenie toes, those squishy legs and those gassy smiles! And equally important is documenting the totally normal, not so glamorous moments as well - the adorable awkwardness of a sink bath, baby burps, sofa snuggles...believe me, those are the foggy memories you'll be happy to have to look back on later.
Sound overwhelming? Don't worry! It's my goal to make this as stress free as possible! I will come to you and all we will do is take photos of you doing what you do - being a parent. You will receive a prep guide full of helpful tips about how to prepare your family and your home, and don't worry, no cleaning service or hair and makeup are required! The real moments will mean more down the road.
This style of session is also perfect for "older" newborns, as they don't require much posing and a more alert baby can make for more engaging photos, capturing connection between the two of you. I recommend anywhere from one to 6 weeks. Sessions typically last 2-4 hours, leaving time for feedings and changes. If baby has siblings (even furry ones) I'm more than happy to include them!
POSES
If you just love those little sweet little newborn poses as well, I'm with you! I always bring along a few props and wraps. We will discuss your ideas in advance so I know what shots are most important to you. We also discuss details like color schemes and style and talk about what you hope to do with your images in the end - for instance nursery art, a family portrait or a beautiful baby album.
Something to note is that the younger the baby the easier they are to pose. Although we won't be attempting anything too ambitious like we might in a studio, a baby under 10 days will be much sleepier - so if you're looking for a pose-heavy gallery keep in mind your baby's age and please let me know when we speak. If you think you missed the window, there are still a number of achievable poses for "older" newborns too.
I want you to feel totally comfortable, and am always happy to answer any questions you have along the way!

FAQ's
My baby is already over a week. Is it too late for a Newborn Session?
Nope! You're in luck because the best thing about natural sessions in that Baby gets to be themself! Posed newborns need to be sleepy, and therefore very new in order squish them into all those little positions, but for us we're going au natural. An "older" newborn is typically more awake and more alert which allows for more opportunity of shots with connection and engagement.
And, my favorite part is that waiting gives you time to settle in and figure things out a bit before a lady with a camera comes through the door!
I photograph newborns all the way up to 8 weeks, but I find the sweet spot to be 3-5 weeks.
What about if baby is older than 8 weeks? No problem! "New Baby Sessions" are very similar!
My house is small. Can we still use it?
Absolutely! I've shot in everything from spacious homes with cathedral ceilings to tight Boston condos to basement apartments. With a little creativity we can always make it work!
What if my house doesn't have good light?
No problem—I bring it with me. While I love using natural light when it’s available, I also bring professional lighting that mimics daylight in a soft, flattering way. So whether your space is full of windows or on the darker side, your photos will still look clean, natural, and beautifully lit.
Do I need to get anything for my baby to wear?
Don’t worry about a thing—I bring everything we’ll need for your newborn, right to your home. That includes soft wraps, cozy blankets, a curated selection of timeless baby outfits in a variety of colors, and simple accessories like bonnets and bows if you’d like them. You’ll get to see samples during your in-home style and concept consultation, and we’ll talk through things like color schemes and overall vibe so everything feels cohesive and personal. You don’t need to buy or prep anything unless there’s a special item you want to include—I'll take care of the rest so you can relax and enjoy the experience.
I'm so awkward in front of the camera. How will I know what to do?
Don't stress! One great thing about this type of session is you just get to be yourself! But if you have insecurities or just want some direction, I've got you! For lifestyle photos I will tell you where to go, where to look, and adjust things like hair and posture and we can use angles and tricks to mask any areas you'd rather not highlight. For documentary you're typically so busy with the activity that you forget I'm there, and that's the way we want it!
Do you know how to handle a baby?
Yes I do! I do a lot of it and I take safety very seriously! I've been doing this for close to 10 years and have 2 children of my own. But remember, we're not posing Baby, so we aren't typically putting them in any positions they wouldn't normally be in. I also don't handle your baby the entire time - usually mainly at the beginning when I'm wrapping and positioning them for details shots. My wrapping technique is very safe and babies usually love it and settle right down and take a nap. And the rest of the time they'll be in your arms!
How does this compare to studio sessions?
I do offer a studio option if that’s what you prefer. The studio experience is shorter and focused on soft neutrals, textures, and simple, authentic lifestyle images. There’s less customization compared to my in-home sessions, but you’ll still get beautiful, natural photos—just in a more controlled setting. If you’re looking for something more personal and tailored to your family, the in-home session is the way to go.
What should I expect to invest?
Every family's story is different, and my sessions are all about creating something personal and lasting. This is a full-service experience for families who want a hands-on, customized process from capturing meaningful moments to designing artwork that truly fits your home and lifestyle.
When you book, your session fee includes a credit toward your image purchase. After your session, we’ll meet for a relaxed ordering appointment where you’ll choose the images you love most. Each selection includes both the digital file and a printed version (either in a custom album or matted print collection).
Most families invest between $2500-$4000+ - it all depend on your goals and what you choose. I’ll walk you through everything so you can make decisions with clarity and confidence and you only buy what you love!
If you're looking for a more simplified experience with typically less investment, you may be interested in learning about my newborn studio session.
I've seen other photographers who cost less. What makes this worth it?
This experience is designed for families who want more than just a set of images—they want something personal, intentional, and lasting. My sessions are fully customized, with support through every step: planning, wardrobe, session flow, lighting, and even final artwork.
I work closely with each family to make sure the experience is calm, thoughtful, and reflective of who you are—not just how you look in a photo. It’s for parents who want to feel prepared and taken care of, and who value having this short window in their child’s life preserved in a way that actually fits their home and their story.
It’s not just about the photos—it’s about walking away with something that feels complete, cared for, and created just for you.
